Alan commenced coaching in 1973 with over 20 years coaching Juniors through to seniors at Grange Thistle:

Then onto Albany Creek Excelsior Soccer club as the director of coaching for over 400 juniors and 43 teams.

His role saw the development of many players and coaches.

With over 15 years coaching representative players for Brisbane North Junior Soccer Association in all ages from

Under 12-U16 Rep teams and a State Coach for the State Representative teams from 2002-2007 Under 14,15,16 Developing several

Roar Team players , QAS players like Taj Miniecon,Luke Deviere, Mitch Nicholls, Isaka Cernaka, Tommy Oar,

Ben Griffin, Tim Smits, Michael Zulo and more.

In 2003 Alan was appointed Premier Reserves coach for Taringa Rovers taking the team to 2nd position, in 2004-2007 he

was appointed head coach for the Premier League Taringa Rovers top side.

In 2008 - Director of coaching at Albany Creek Excelsior Soccer club- Representative coach for the Football Brisbane Rep Program

Under 12 south Silver team who were undefeated in the competition and over all winner.
